Until November 13, 2022, in Padua, at the Oratorio di San Rocco (Oratory of St. Rocco), Veronese artist Giorgio Vigna presents ‘I Sassi’ (The Pebbles). I Sassi (The Pebbles) is the name of his famous series of sculptures and ‘wearable sculptures’, as he prefers to call the jewels in different metals, worked with electroforming. The irregular shapes, the ‘pebbles’, inspired by nature, flow softly in the iridescent colors and surface workings, which often take center stage.

Giorgio Vigna, born in Verona and Milanese by action, has also spent a long time living between Rome and Venice. Over the past 30 years, he created a great deal of work with known international resonance. He organized many individual exhibitions, and participated in many group exhibitions; his jewels appeared in stage costumes in the films of several internationally renowned directors. In 2013, on the occasion of the exhibition ‘Stili Naturali’ (‘Natural Styles’), at the Castelvecchio Museum, Vigna created the permanent installation ‘Acquaria’, made for Carlo Scarpa’s fountain; in Venice, in 2017, he produced ‘Fuochi di Rugiada’ (‘Fires of Dew’), for the Gallerie dell’Accademia in Venice, in collaboration with Venini. Since 2018, Giorgio Vigna has been a member of the Scientific Committee of the Stanze del Vetro (Giorgio Cini Foundation with Pentagram Stiftung). Many of his works are part of several public and private collections worldwide, including the Bellini Pezzoli Collection at the Castello Sforzesco in Milan.
