How to combine made in Italy, craftsmanship, design, art and luxury in a single item? In Sicily, they know how to do it. The idea comes from Ferruccio Laviani<\/a>, an internationally renowned designer, who thought of creating furniture of great value, working together with Sicilian craftsmen, and an entrepreneur from Catania. The artisans shared their technique, applied it to Laviani’s design, to create Not.O, a collection of sideboards and cupboards of different sizes.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each piece comes from different techniques and inspirations. Caltagirone features glazed ceramic doors with decorations inspired by Fontana and Melotti, a traditional method applied to a new element. On the other hand, Enna has polychrome wood decorations, a bit Futurist, a bit Radical Design. Ribera shows elaborate workmanship, with a pickled oak grid overlapping a decorated panel. A macro pattern with a Greek motif in different sizes is silkscreened on the doors of Avola. This is an exciting way to bring craftsmanship into the future, an innovation that allows not to disperse the heritage of manual skills, typical of the excellence of Made in Italy.\u00a0[Photos from Ferruccio Laviani website]<\/p>\n\n\n\n
