The works 1900 – 1940
This is a less usual selection of works, which allows us to understand the value the artist attaches to color, and its function in dominating form. Thus, color can be defined as an autonomous medium, the protagonist of the image. Prominent in this exhibition is the duality in representation: from soft, cadenced brushstrokes to sharp, outlined strokes.

The strong presence of the Bauhaus contrasts with the fairy tale narrative of the time, ranging into the rich, eventful world of Kandinsky. Walking through the exhibition carefully, one can pick up how the transition between his two modes of interpretation and expression encapsulates some paintings representing the middle ground. Thus, one observes a flow of the soft poetic style toward the rigor of precise lines, geometric forms, and sharp intersections. Or vice versa. (Assia Karaguiozova) Palazzoroverella.com
