Gaetano Pesce x Bottega Veneta

400 resin chairs to celebrate diversity

How are you? It’s a question, but it’s also the name Gaetano Pesce gave to the collection of 400 chairs designed especially for Bottega Veneta’s Milan spring-summer 2023 runway show. The chairs, made of resin, a material Pesce has always worked with, are one different from the other, although apparently all the same. It is the eulogy of imperfection, a theme that has always been dear to the Ligurian designer who studied in Venice and now lives in New York, imperfection that emphasizes the uniqueness of people, each with its own identity.

Matthieu Blazy, creative director of Bottega Veneta, therefore had the idea of working with Gaetano Pesce to represent diversity in the set-up for the fashion show. The 400 chairs, made of colorful resin like the floor, will be auctioned off during the next edition of Design Miami, which takes place in Miami from November 30 to December 4, 2022. This is also something particularly dear to Gaetano Pesce, the opportunity to create and spread culture, even through a fashion show. Because culture is not only found in museums, but also a catwalk show is a nourishment for the mind. (All photos Bottega Veneta) Bottegaveneta.com
