It is not merely a relais, but a house that preserves the truestmeaning of hospitality. Five suites, an unhurried sense of time, and an embrace that welcomes: at Mitterstiller, one feels at home, far removed from the world. Each suite is a small universe of its own, often chosen with the heart even before the eye. There is the Beige Suite, perfect for those who love to fall asleep beneath a star-studded sky; the Grey and Red Suites, which frame the Dolomites in all their majesty; the Green Suite, overlooking the Alpe di Siusi and the Sciliar; and the Brown Suite, facing the forest and the hay barn, ideal for guests in search of silence and a deep connection with nature. It is not uncommon for visitors to grow fond of a favourite room and return year after year, sometimes for extended stays.
Set between Bolzano and the Renon plateau, this relais is the outcome of a genuinely lived story. In 2007 Helene Mur purchased the ancient farmhouse and embarked on a patient, passionate restoration, respecting the building’s rural soul while enhancing every detail—wall by wall, beam by beam. Where time could not be halted, Helene chose the excellence of local craftsmanship, shaping a place that is refined yet never austere, elegant and profoundly human.
The five suites, arranged over two floors, express different stylistic identities while sharing the same atmosphere of intimacy and care. Fine fabrics, antique furnishings and bespoke pieces engage in a quiet dialogue with wood and natural light. Nothing is left to chance: every object reflects the hostess’s assured and sensitive taste.
At the heart of the house lies the Gothic stube, where each morning Helene welcomes her guests around the large table for a breakfast prepared with devotion. Nearby, the former henhouse—now transformed into a sauna—offers yet another testament to how hospitality here is, above all, a gesture of genuine attentiveness. Well-being is not about display, but about silence, beauty, and that rare feeling of being truly welcomed.
