Hotel Le Massif, in Courmayeur, is the purest expression of the beauty of the Italian mountains. Le Massif stands just a stone’s throw from Courmayeur, at the foot of Mont Blanc, overlooking Europe’s highest mountain; its 5-star hospitality is based on the warmth of wood and the tradition of Alpine culture. The hotel concept is inspired by the larch, and its changing color, with the seasons. The furnishings come in iron, antiqued leather, tartan-patterned fabrics, warm velvets, and Corten steel for the exposed parts. On the other hand, typical cowbells inspired some wall lamps; room comfort is ensured by carpeting, which muffles sound in the corridors. On the exterior facades, the wood effect is recreated through special titanium zinc sheets; flooring in the common areas on the ground floor, on the other hand, is made of local stone. The hotel’s ground floor houses the reception, common areas and bar area; the second floor, on the other hand, is dedicated to the two in-house restaurants, under the guidance of chef Nicola Ricciardi. The kitchen offers cuisine of the highest level, taking guests on a discovery of Aosta Valley gastronomy.
Hotel Le Massif comprises 8 floors, featuring 80 rooms and suites spread out from the second floor. Each room is a cozy place, with essential furnishings made with handcrafted finish, very detailed. Materials include untreated wood slab floors and antique wood for the woodwork in the rooms, that mark the warm and cozy rooms. The headboards of the king-size beds are made of white faux leather. The suites occupy the attic dwellings on the top floor; here, large terraces offer breathtaking views of Mont Blanc. The bathrooms, clad in porcelain stoneware, are mini spas with full-wall shower stalls with a central showerhead, true oases of well-being where to soak in after a day spent outdoors.
