A resort at Lake Orta
Lake Orta is a small lake, a jewel set in the mountains, a few kilometers from Lake Maggiore, in that border area that is already Piedmont but still has much of Lombardy. Given its size, which is very small, the lake doesn’t host many hospitality facilities, and the few ones can offer absolute privacy and peace.

One of the latest additions is Laqua by The Lake, a resort owned by the family of Antonino and Cinzia Cannavacciuolo; they also run the two-Michelin-starred restaurant, Villa Crespi, not far away. The resort, located in Pettenasco, overlooks the lake directly and is a paradise for nature and sports lovers. The Primatesta Architecture Studio designed the facility, which paid close attention to containing consumption and waste, both in its construction and use. The space blends perfectly with the landscape; the residence includes 16 apartments and two penthouses, with kitchens, living areas and a large private terrace. The relaxation area consists of a Beach Club with a heated infinity pool on the lake water, which is also open to guests not staying here, and a bar. For facilities, the resort employs a hybrid generator with a heat pump that uses groundwater from the lake and powers electricity generation. Energy class A, it also features in-house rainwater and groundwater collection network for irrigation of the grounds. Electric cars are available to guests, with a charging station in the private parking lot. Laqua by The Lake also includes a restaurant, with the same name, also open to outside guests.
