Le Bambole reloaded

a new version for the B&B Italia historical collection

On the occasion of Milan Design Week 2022, B&B Italia presented a re-edition of the upholstered furniture from the Le Bambole (“The Dolls”) collection, designed by Mario Bellini in 1972. To celebrate the 50th anniversary, Le Bambole comes in a new version, with new upholstery and sustainable materials. The softness of the seat is guaranteed by manufacturing arrangements, which make it possible to minimize the amount of polyurethane used. Today, moreover, the structure is made of recycled polyethylene, with elements of polyurethane foam and thermoplastic elastomers, with an undercover of recycled PET.

In addition to the core elements of the collection, the Bambola armchair, the two-seater sofa Bibambola and the bed Bamboletto, today Le Bambole is enriched with the three-seater sofa evocatively named Granbambola (Big Doll). To worthily celebrate the anniversary and the re-release, Le Bambole is dressed in new fabrics, sablè or floral, and also in Kasia full-grain leather. At Milan Design Week, B&B Italia presented a unique collaboration with Stella McCartney. The British designer covered an armchair from the Le Bambole collection with a hand-designed print fabric, Fungi Forest, from the SS22 collection. The armchair belongs to a capsule collection, which will be developed in the coming months. Bebitalia.com
