A lively little man travels along a virtually infinite line of which he is an integral part. This is ‘La Linea’, a character created by the Italian illustrator, director, and cartoonist Osvaldo Cavandoli. The protagonist of the animated series encounters numerous obstacles along his path and often turns to the artist to draw solutions to his problems. La Linea also takes center stage in our issue, and despite being straight, curved, broken, open, closed, allowing for expressive variety, it is always clean. The direction is always clear, and the final solution is rigorous. It will be intriguing to discover the thought process behind every project, combining aesthetics and functionality, just like in the animated series, in the upcoming pages: from a pastry to a car, from a work of art to wallpaper, from a dress to a pergola.
