Eat, pray, snap

A visual journey through emotions, cultures, and flavors: the World Food Photography Awards celebrates food in all its forms, with images that tell stories from every corner of the globe.

Food, the people who prepare and consume it, the animals, and the emotions born from shared moments: these are the elements that make the images of the World Food Photography Awards truly unique. This photographic competition, open to both professionals and amateurs alike, stands alone in its kind, celebrating the finest in gastronomic photography on a global scale.

The winner of this edition is Chinese photographer Xiaoling Li, with her evocative image The Elderly Having Delicious Food. “What a perfect image for our times,” remarks Caroline Kenyon, founder of the award. “This beautifully composed photograph captures five elderly women in Sichuan Province, immersed in the joy of good food shared among true friends. The happiness emanating from their closeness is palpable, a powerful message against any attempt at division. The colour, the composition, the variety of expressions, while one of them steadfastly continues to savor her meal, make this photograph a hymn to joy. I challenge anyone not to feel uplifted looking at it.”

With a broad range of categories, from Harvest to Street Food, from Food Influencer to Best Cake, the award celebrates the stories of food from every corner of the world. It is a true tribute to food’s ability to touch our lives in a remarkable variety of ways: from cultivation to harvest, from preparation to consumption, and finally to celebration and survival.
