2020
The second edition of EDIT Napoli, the fair dedicated to high-quality design, for designers, brands, craftsmen, promoted in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism of Naples, curated by Domitilla Dardi and Emilia Petruccelli, buyer, was held from 16 to 18 October, in the San Domenico Maggiore monumental complex. EDIT Napoli wanted to emphasize production skills with contemporary ideas thanks to the use of ‘ancient knowledge’. Despite the period we are going through, EDIT Napoli wanted to preserve the physical contact with buyers and visitors, although since 2019 dedicated business rooms and virtual 3D tours have been made available to allow professional operators to attend remotely.
There were 70 exhibitors, including international designers, brands, craftsmen: Botteganove, Forma&Cemento, Scapin Collezioni are some of the Italian brands that participated; among foreign designers, there were Mila Novo and Constance Guisset. A whole exhibition loft was dedicated to designers aged under 30 and brands established less than three years ago: from Basis Rho to Duilio Secondo Studio, up to Tom Robinson. Also Made in EDIT was born, a collaboration between Sara Ricciardi, a designer from Campania, and Simone Piva, craftsman and master of materials, who created Ora, a collection of objects dedicated to the world of wellness.
In the beautiful setting of Teatro San Carlo, designer Martino Gamper set up Metamorfosi, a colorful collection produced by Moroso, while Andrea Anastasio presented Madre e Filo, a lamp set for Foscarini. There was also EDIT Podcast, a 6-episode series curated by journalist Paolo Ferrarini to tell the experiences of the protagonists.
