The project is conceived as a single installation, with textile experiments by different artists, including Carla Accardi, Gastone Novelli, Bice Lazzari, Antonio Sanfilippo. Tapestries that decorated the interiors of 20th-century ships, works such as Cromogramma by Renata Boero, Mappa by Alighiero Boetti, Sole scucito by Maria Lai. Or even projects by designers such as Marion Baruch, Ettore Sottsass, Aldo Rossi, Alessandro Pedretti, Italo Rota, Nani Marquina, up to tapestries, carpets, and handkerchiefs made by Afghan women.

The word intertwingled was created in 1960 by the American sociologist and philosopher Ted Nelson, to express the idea that knowledge is made up of myriad connections and cross-relationships; these relationships cannot be cataloged according to a hierarchical order. Therefore, starting from this vision, the exhibition suggests a new way of looking at the interconnected world in which we live. Carpets and tapestries on display also represent the multiple political, economic, and social relationships of our society. Gallerianazionale.com
