Jamais Content, a precious bookshelf
Bottega Ghianda belongs to a small circle of artisanal workshops, at the pinnacle of cabinet-making in the world. Starting two centuries ago, through the generations it established itself as Italian excellence of the finest craftsmanship. A true cult of wood, which passes through the unique skills of a manual craftsman with extraordinary talent. In the words of Romeo Sozzi, “With the work of Bottega Ghianda, we celebrate manual skill and gesture.”

Jamais Content, designed by Marc Ferrand, a designer who collaborates with Shigeru Ban, is a modular bookcase made of natural citronnier, wood in soft, warm tones, with brass details. Marc Ferrand emphasized the inherent movement of the structure, which features shelves available in different square, rectangular, trapezoidal, end and corner shapes. Shelves and uprights create different architectural solutions, circular, curved, angular, or linear. The vertical and horizontal wooden elements are assembled with cross profiles made of satin-finished brass. The brass profile, created especially for this project, allows to assemble the various geometric components of the shelving units. The bookcase can be accessorized with leather doors, closing one or more squares, creating an interplay of empty and full spaces. Bottegaghianda.com
