Between hedonism and sustainability
Increasingly explosive, even when it comes to men’s fashion, this style vision is the expression of a multiethnic and multicultural society. With no geographical boundaries or barriers, clearly represented by the chosen fabrics, processes, prints, colors, volumes, Pitti Immagine Uomo 102 showcases the Spring-Summer 2023 collections. The show confirmed an ever-growing trend with always more supporters, while continuing to be a global reference point of Italian haute-couture. Held, defended and promoted by its major players as a heritage to be safeguarded, expressed according to the codes of contemporary elegance, the new essential values and needs of sustainability, and – of course – of reassuring comfort. An elegance that, according to Brunello Cucinelli, is based on a “refined and relaxed balance between character and dynamism.” Thus the dress, in the SS23 collection, “based on the meeting between new trends and pure craftsmanship,” is the key feature, a symbol of “business elegance.” It’s perfect to be worn in a disengaged, daily, summer way”, whose versatility is also expressed in jackets and trousers that can be worn separately to meet the different needs according to moments of the day. “The pleasure and the value of the sartorial world are transferred to elements with a relaxed style.”

The inspiration and content of the Stefano Ricci SS 23 collection can be seen in the extraordinary setting in which it is presented, between Capri, Ischia and the nature reserve of Li Galli. Here, the “contemporary gentleman” ideally lives in search of an elegance, swinging between the splendors of the Belle Époque and the fantastic 1950s. In fact, in the ’50s, Italian fashion was invented and launched in Florence by Giovanni Battista Giorgini, at the beginning of a decade among the most full of expectations of the last century. Precious materials, such as the silks of the Antico Setificio Fiorentino, or the nubuck crocodile, sophisticated craftsmanship of the most formal garments as well as dei blouson and suits jogging, express a hedonistic vision of absolute luxury, from the past to the present. Beyond the pure Italian craftsmanship, the LO.WHITE footwear collection features the quality of being made in Tuscany, produced in the region with a centuries-old tradition of manufacturing and footwear excellence, and “Handmade,” as unequivocally proven by marking that certifies every single piece.
